An "application" in Online Mooring is a collection of all information related to a single request from a boater ("applicant").
Online Mooring allows each provider to have a different workflow for managing applications. However, Online Mooring defines all of the possible workflows that a provider can use.
Each of the squares shown in the diagram below represents one of the high-level processes that Online Mooring supports. The blue squares represent application processes that involve the boaters. The yellow squares represents processes that involve the provider only.
From an applicant's perspective, the Online Mooring workflow is as follows (assuming that the provider uses all of the available workflows):
1) An applicant submits a Wait List Application (see
Application Process) to the provider. If the provider approves the Wait List Application, the application goes on the wait list.
2) If the applicant was put on the wait list for a limited period of time, they will be asked to submit a Wait List Renewal (see
Application Process) sometime near their expiration date. If the provider approves the Wait List Renewal, the applicant remains on the wait list for a longer period of time.
3) When the provider is ready to take the applicant off of the wait list, the provider can ask the applicant to provide additional information by submitting an Application (see
Application Process). If the provider approves the Application, the request is approved (or "the permit is issued").
4) If the applicant was approved for a limited period of time, they will be asked to submit a Renewal (see
Application Process) sometime near their expiration date. If the provider approves the Renewal, the applicant remains approved for a longer period of time.
From the provider's perspective, the Online Mooring workflow is as follows (assuming that the provider uses all of the available workflows):
1) The provider uses the
Wait List Management Process to add new people to the wait, and to remove people from the wait list (usually by approving the applications).
2) The provider uses the
Berth Management Process to control who can use each berth, and where.
The
Application Status indicates where an application is in this process at the current time. The status is determined based on the actions that have been performed on the application.
